For instance, GSK represented Darryl and Carol Sanford who sought to subdivide 10 acres in Clallam County. After receiving preliminary plat approval, they worked on meeting the conditions of the plat. However, when it came time for the County Commissioners to determine whether all the conditions of the final plat had been met, the Board of Commissioners held a hearing without notifying the Sanfords that the hearing on their plat was being held. They found out about the hearing only later when a consultant saw a news article about the hearing. GSK represented the Sanfords in litigation and, ultimately, the Court of Appeals ruled that the County had violated the Sanfords' rights to procedural due process.
